DAVID PARKER, Special Project Consultant David
Parker has over 17 years experience in the hotel industry, to include
operations, consulting and development. Prior
to joining American Liberty Hospitality, Mr. Parker was employed by PKF
Consulting for nearly a decade, where he developed numerous methodologies for
collecting market information on hotels and meeting facilities, and developed
multiple modeling techniques for projecting utilization, income and expense.
Mr.
Parker directed and participated in numerous and varied projects while at PKF,
including the expansion of the George R. Brown Convention Center and development
of the 1,200-room Hilton Americas in downtown Houston.
Large projects involving analysis of group and convention demand require
accurate and efficient data collection and analysis.
Data gathering techniques developed by Mr. Parker include using fax
software to disseminate meeting planner surveys and using a database to
aggregate survey results. In
conjunction with hotel market research, Mr. Parker developed the system through
which occupancy data was collected from individual hotels and reported in
aggregate form on a monthly and annual basis, known as Trends in the Hotel Industry. In
addition, Mr. Parker developed a database based on Hotel Occupancy Tax receipts
collected by the State of Texas in order to develop a census of hotel
performance for various market areas. Mr.
Parker holds a BBA in Computer Information Systems from the University of
Houston. Mr. Parker also attended
Texas A&M University seeking a Masters in Land Economics in Real Estate.
Mr. Parker’s hotel career began prior to attending the University of
Houston, working his way up at various hotels in Austin, Texas.
While attending the University of Houston, Mr. Parker served in various
management positions at the Four Seasons Inn on the Park and the Wyndham
Warwick. Mr. Parker joined PKF Consulting as an intern while
completing his degree, and was eventually promoted to Senior Consultant.
