American Liberty Hospitality was
founded in 1970 as a division of the highly respected American Liberty Oil
Company of Dallas, Texas with the specific objective of operating its wholly
owned hotels. In 1983, it was separately incorporated, and it began
transferring its success in operating its own portfolio of properties to
the benefit of a growing list of asset managers and other owners.
Although the industry has improved
dramatically since those days, American Liberty’s function is essentially
the same as it was then: to provide owners and asset managers with the highest
caliber hotel management services, creating and enhancing their investments,
while relieving them from the stress of daily operations. In addition, it has
evolved into a progressive real estate investment company with a track record
of locating hotel investment opportunities, applying strenuous due diligence
efforts, and then implementing sound marketing and management strategies to
the benefit of its investors.
American Liberty’s founding
company, owned by the Toddie Lee Wynne family interests, had been in the hotel
business as developers and operators since the 1960s. Its diversified
portfolio included international hotel developments in Hong Kong, Indonesia,
Malta, and Africa with Hilton International and Hyatt Hotels. Domestically,
its hotel projects included major downtown mixed-use retail/office/hotel
developments, coastal Texas resorts, and suburban franchised full service
hotels in major markets in Texas and Louisiana.
Since ALH was formed, it has
launched a chain of upscale limited service properties in secondary and
tertiary markets, led the redevelopment and ongoing management of an 800 room
convention hotel complex, and provided management services to lending
institutions, life insurance companies, governmental agencies, and numerous
private investors seeking operational expertise. Currently its portfolio is
expanding to include a lakefront golf and conference center resort complex
where ALH functions as majority owner, developer, and operator in a
public/private venture.
ALH enjoys a seasoned perspective
on the relative value of potential chain affiliations such as Bass Hotels and
Resorts (Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express), Best Western
International, Choice Hotels, Sheraton, Hilton, Cendant's Days Inn, Ramada,
and Super 8 brands, and Country Hearth Inns, having had ownership/franchisor
relationships with these and others over the last two decades.
The company now has an extensive portfolio of
operating properties in markets throughout the Southwest. As owners, American
Liberty identifies with the interests of its investors, striving to be
sensitive to the issues that impact profitability and the preservation of the
asset
